For privacy questions, or to reach us for any reason, please visit our <a href=\"\/es\/contact\/\">Contact page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Information We Collect<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Information you provide to us:<\/strong> When you request a quote or contact us through the form on our site, we collect the information you submit, which may include your name, email address, and details about your translation project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you place an order and check out on our site, we collect the information needed to process it, including your name, billing information, email address, and payment details. Payment card details are processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe, and are not stored on our servers (see &#8220;Payment Processing&#8221; below).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you create an account, we store your name, email address, and order history to make future checkouts easier and to let you view your order status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Information collected automatically:<\/strong> Like most websites, we automatically collect some technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and pages viewed. Where analytics or spam-protection tools are involved, this is described below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Legal Basis for Processing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, we rely on the following legal bases to process your personal information: performance of a contract (to prepare quotes, fulfill orders, and provide your account), legitimate interests (to operate, secure, and improve our site and services, and to respond to inquiries), consent (for optional cookies and analytics, which you control through our cookie banner), and compliance with a legal obligation (such as retaining financial records). Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that already took place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Cookies and Analytics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We use Complianz to manage cookie consent on our site. Depending on your choice, our site may use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use the site. When you make a payment, the information needed to process it (such as the purchase amount and your billing details) is passed to Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. Please see the <a href=\"https:\/\/stripe.com\/privacy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Stripe Privacy Policy<\/a> for details on how Stripe handles your information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spam Protection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our quote-request form uses Google reCAPTCHA (invisible) to help prevent spam submissions. This may involve sending some information (such as your IP address) to Google. Google\u2019s privacy policy is available at <a href=\"https:\/\/policies.google.com\/privacy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">policies.google.com\/privacy<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Hosting and Caching<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our site is hosted on Hostinger and uses LiteSpeed Cache to serve pages faster. Caching creates temporary copies of site pages to improve load times; these cached copies are not accessed by third parties and expire on a regular schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who Has Access to Your Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Members of our team can access the information needed to respond to your quote requests, fulfill orders, and provide support \u2014 for example, your contact details and order information. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">International Data Transfers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">eTranslata is based in the United States, and the service providers described in this Policy (including Stripe and Google) process information in the United States and other countries. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, this means your personal information is transferred outside of those regions. We rely on the safeguards our service providers make available for these transfers, including Standard Contractual Clauses incorporated into their data processing terms (for example, Stripe\\u2019s Data Processing Agreement and Google\\u2019s Data Processing Amendment).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Long We Keep Your Information<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Document retention: Source documents you upload for translation are retained for 90 days after your order is completed (or, for a quote that doesn&#8217;t result in an order, 90 days after submission), then deleted from our active systems on that schedule. Residual copies may remain temporarily in encrypted, access-restricted backups until those backups are overwritten or expire under our backup schedule. We send reminder emails before your documents are scheduled for deletion so you have a chance to save a copy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Order and billing records: Order number, invoice and payment details, service and language pair, amounts, and related accounting records are retained for seven years after the end of the calendar year in which the transaction occurred, to meet accounting, tax, and legal recordkeeping requirements. These records do not include your uploaded documents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If a dispute, chargeback, legal hold, or active revision request applies to your order, we may retain related documents longer than the standard 90 days until that matter is resolved. If you&#8217;d like us to delete information we hold about you sooner, contact us through our <a href=\"\/es\/contact\/\">Contact page<\/a> and we will do so except where we&#8217;re required to retain it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your Rights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us through our <a href=\"\/es\/contact\/\">Contact page<\/a>. If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Children&#8217;s Privacy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our services are intended for adults, businesses, and institutions. Individuals under 18 may not create accounts or submit documents on their own behalf, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some institutional clients, such as schools and school districts, may engage us to translate documents containing information about minors, including IEPs, evaluations, and report cards. In those circumstances, the institution\u2014not the student\u2014is our client and determines the purpose for which the information is provided to us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We process this information only as necessary to provide the requested services and comply with applicable contractual and legal obligations. Access is restricted to authorized personnel, assigned language professionals, and approved service providers with a legitimate need to know. The information is handled according to the confidentiality, security, and retention practices described in this Privacy Policy and any applicable agreement with the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Institutional clients are responsible for establishing an appropriate legal basis for providing student records to us, such as consent, FERPA\u2019s school-official exception, or another legally permitted basis. When required, eTranslata and the institution may enter into a student data privacy or data processing agreement defining additional safeguards and responsibilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changes to This Policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services or applicable laws change.
