eTranslata LLC (“eTranslata,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates etranslata.com and provides English–Spanish document translation services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect
Information you provide to us: When you request a quote or contact us through the form on our site, we collect the information you submit, which may include your name, email address, and details about your translation project.
When you place an order and check out on our site, we collect the information needed to process it, including your name, billing information, email address, and payment details. Payment card details are processed directly by our payment processor, Stripe, and are not stored on our servers (see “Payment Processing” below).
If you create an account, we store your name, email address, and order history to make future checkouts easier and to let you view your order status.
Information collected automatically: Like most websites, we automatically collect some technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and pages viewed. Where analytics or spam-protection tools are involved, this is described below.
Cookies and Analytics
We use Complianz to manage cookie consent on our site. Depending on your choice, our site may use Google Analytics (via Google Site Kit) to understand how visitors use the site. Analytics tracking is configured with Google’s Consent Mode, so it defaults to “denied” for visitors in the EU, UK, and Switzerland until you actively consent through our cookie banner.

Payment Processing
We accept payments through Stripe. When you make a payment, the information needed to process it (such as the purchase amount and your billing details) is passed to Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number. Please see the Stripe Privacy Policy for details on how Stripe handles your information.
Spam Protection
Our quote-request form uses Google reCAPTCHA (invisible) to help prevent spam submissions. This may involve sending some information (such as your IP address) to Google. Google’s privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy.
Hosting and Caching
Our site is hosted on Hostinger and uses LiteSpeed Cache to serve pages faster. Caching creates temporary copies of site pages to improve load times; these cached copies are not accessed by third parties and expire on a regular schedule.
Who Has Access to Your Information
Members of our team can access the information needed to respond to your quote requests, fulfill orders, and provide support — for example, your contact details and order information. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
How Long We Keep Your Information
Document retention: Source documents you upload for translation are retained for 90 days after your order is completed (or, for a quote that doesn’t result in an order, 90 days after submission), then deleted from our active systems on that schedule. Residual copies may remain temporarily in encrypted, access-restricted backups until those backups are overwritten or expire under our backup schedule. We send reminder emails before your documents are scheduled for deletion so you have a chance to save a copy.
Order and billing records: Order number, invoice and payment details, service and language pair, amounts, and related accounting records are retained for seven years after the end of the calendar year in which the transaction occurred, to meet accounting, tax, and legal recordkeeping requirements. These records do not include your uploaded documents.
If a dispute, chargeback, legal hold, or active revision request applies to your order, we may retain related documents longer than the standard 90 days until that matter is resolved. If you’d like us to delete information we hold about you sooner, contact us at privacy@etranslata.com and we will do so except where we’re required to retain it.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@etranslata.com.
Children’s Privacy
Our services are intended for adults, businesses, and institutions. Individuals under 18 may not create accounts or submit documents on their own behalf, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.
Some institutional clients, such as schools and school districts, may engage us to translate documents containing information about minors, including IEPs, evaluations, and report cards. In those circumstances, the institution—not the student—is our client and determines the purpose for which the information is provided to us.
We process this information only as necessary to provide the requested services and comply with applicable contractual and legal obligations. Access is restricted to authorized personnel, assigned language professionals, and approved service providers with a legitimate need to know. The information is handled according to the confidentiality, security, and retention practices described in this Privacy Policy and any applicable agreement with the institution.
Institutional clients are responsible for establishing an appropriate legal basis for providing student records to us, such as consent, FERPA’s school-official exception, or another legally permitted basis. When required, eTranslata and the institution may enter into a student data privacy or data processing agreement defining additional safeguards and responsibilities.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services or applicable laws change. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
